The race you didn't train for™

I'm Brett Grossman, the resilience keynote speaker for teams and people running a race they never signed up for. I show audiences how to keep moving when life changes the course, and how to finish stronger than they started.

Nobody trains for the hard part.

The deal falls through. The diagnosis comes back. The market shifts, the team burns out, and the plan you built your year around disappears overnight.

Most people don't fall behind because they're weak. They fall behind because they stop running when the course changes. Brett's keynote gives your audience the mindset and self-talk to keep moving, and a story they'll remember long after the event ends.

Portrait of Brett Grossman

He was training for one race. Life entered him in another.

Brett was deep in HYROX training and days from speaking at a conference in Plano, Texas, when a sudden medical emergency put him in surgery instead of on stage.

What followed was a long recovery that stripped away the identity he had spent years building: the athlete, the provider, the guy with the plan. Rebuilding meant rewiring how he thought, how he talked to himself, and how he showed up for his family and his work.

That is what this talk is about. Not the illness. The response. Every person in your audience is running a race they didn't sign up for, whether it's a lost deal, a hard diagnosis, a burned-out team, or a career that took a turn. Brett gives them a way to keep moving.

You don't get to choose the course. You do get to choose how you run it.

Husband. Father. Coach. Speaker. Author. Entrepreneur. Executive. Investor. HYROX athlete.

Signature keynote

The race you didn't train for

A story-driven keynote on resilience, identity, and self-talk, built from real life rather than theory. Funny, honest, and practical.

  • How to reset when the plan falls apart overnight
  • The self-talk that keeps you moving, and the kind that stops you cold
  • Rebuilding identity after a setback without starting from zero
  • Turning a hard season into your strongest chapter

Resilience when the course changes

For leadership teams and organizations moving through change, uncertainty, or loss. How to lead yourself first, then lead others.

Finding your path

For people at a crossroads: new roles, new careers, new chapters. How to find your way again when the old map stops working.

Running through rejection

For sales teams and producers who hear "no" for a living. Mental endurance, bouncing back fast, and staying hungry without burning out.

For the ones who care for everyone else

For nurses, physicians, medical assistants, and caregivers. A talk from someone who has been on the other side of the bed, about carrying the weight and still showing up.
